Welcome to the Valley Points Family YMCA
In one way or another, we're all connected to the Y. Whether it's where you discovered a talent that became a lifelong passion, were encouraged by a mentor, or where you turn for support with a healthy lifestyle.
At the Valley Points Family YMCA, we believe our programming lays the groundwork for healthy futures, builds a sense of community, and conveys the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Yes, children learn to swim, kids have somewhere to go after school and we teach about healthy lifestyles, but the Y is far more than that. The Y is a place where kids find direction, families come together and people rally to make a difference.
With a commitment to nurturing youth development, promoting healthy living, and fostering a sense of social responsibility, the Y ensures that people of all ages and from all walks of life have access to the essentials needed to be more healthy, confident, connected and secure.
WHAT'S HAPPENING AT THE Y
Nurturing the development of every child and teen.
Nationwide, no one cares for more children than the Y. With so many demands on today's families and the increased focus on early brain development, families need all the support they can get to nurture the potential of youth. That's why Early Learning and School Age Enrichment programs at the Y focus on holistically nurturing child development by providing a safe and healthy place to learn foundational skills, develop healthy, trusting relationships and build self-reliance through the Y values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Education & Leadership
► Early Learning Readiness Program: Thanks to a grant from Y-USA and The United Way of Westmoreland County, our Y is providing this program for FREE for children ages 0 to 5—along with their caregivers—to learn together! ELR engages both children and caregivers to play and learn while developing the physical, verbal and social skills necessary for school. The program runs twice a week for two hours through June 2017, with continuous enrollment throughout the length of the program. Click here for more information!
► Explorers Program: The Explorers Program offers four levels of learning through "hands on" exploration in a student created environment. This environment encourages the children through opportunities for intellectual and social development. Teacher observation of each student is used to adjust the program to challenge individual development. See the Winter-Spring Program Guide to learn more and register your child(ren) today!
► Leaders Club: Join the Y Leaders Club and experience opportunities for leadership development, personal growth and service to others. Leaders Club is for teens in grades 7-9 and meets weekly at the New Kensington Branch. Through Leaders Club, teens will gain experience through volunteering, serve the community, strengthen academics, build their resume, form friendships, become a role model for other youth, and earn a free monthly YMCA membership. To learn more and/or to complete the application, see the Leaders Club brochure.
